Letter to a Father
ByEdgardo Cozarinsky
The detective always ends by finding out something about himself… A filmmaker in search for his father’s traces uncovers unexpected links with a genealogy made of breaks. His grandfather – one of the “Jewish gauchos” at the end of the 19th century… His father – a navy officer. Himself – writer and filmmaker. Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos, Paris and Japan are the stages of an inquiry unveiling layers of secrets and tacit agreements. At the end he finds himself telling a family story far from all certainty, but deeply rooted in Argentine history. A film about the contradictions underlying all identity.
