In everyone’s eyes, Brigitte Bardot is an icon of the 60s… except in Greenland, where B.B. is said to be a witch. Many Inuit know nothing about her film career, but they all heard about this French woman who destroyed their ancestral traditions, by fighting for the ban on seal hunting and the sale of skins.
Filmed over several generations (from 1958 to the present day) this film gives a voice to Inuit hunters and their descendants. Tracing the evolution of their way of life, it questions our relationship with meat and animal suffering in consumer societies. Westerners wanted to stand for ecology and the animal cause… but at what cost for the Inuit?
